Daisey & Doodle review the stay at Presnell's Bayside Marina and RV Resort

Port St. Joe, Florida

Port St. Joe Visit (and Richey's Roadside Grill) by Daisey and Doodle Jan2 - Jan 5th, 2023

An oasis for pets and owners alike, one of very few places that four legged adventurers can smell the ocean air!

"We got our pads in the water, tail in the sand, a cold water bowl by our side; Life is good today... Life is good today"

The Park Rules concerning Pets (as of January 1, 2023)

"Pet owners are allowed a maximum of 2 pets at the RV sites if management is notified at time of registration. Pets are welcome. However, they must be kept on a leash, kept quit, and feces cleaned up immediately and disposed of in containers marked for such. Pets are not allowed in cabins, park models, buildings, playground, or pool area. Pets are not to be left unattended, with or without leash, outside of your RV. Management is not responsible for the injury of your pet for any reason. No mean or aggressive pets allowed in the park. If your pet is loud you will be asked to leave. All pets must have current vaccinations. No outside cages please."

So pretty much the normal rules for any RV park and pretty basic for any self-respecting paet owner. Doodle and I always like a park that has a dog potty area. This park is great with a pet walking area both at the front of the park and right next to the beach/waterfront in the back of the park. I love the smell of salt water while I do my business but it is a little annoying when Doodle gets distracted by all the smells and forgets to take care of business!

Walking around the park is fun but be sure to note that the drive is gravel and can sometimes have potholes with standing water (it is Florida after all). The gravel can be touch on my pads at time but there is plenty of grass here to walk on. During our stay there where plenty of friendly pets to stop and get to know.

Well, we couldn't finish our barking about this location until we mentioned "Richeys" roadside Grill. An awesome roadside food truck literally across the street from the beach at Mexico Beach, Florida. Just a short 15 minute drive from Presnell's, this place is worth the drive from our doghouse in Alabama to Florida just to get a Philly cheesesteak or Hamburger. Daisey and I had heard that this place had the BEST burgers ever, some said the best they had in the entire life, and we have to give it a four paws up!!! Friendly folks, excellent service and truly the best food and magic burger creations ever. Stop in and say hi to the good folks at Richeys, well worth a good sniff and quick "bite".
